When discussing cleaning you commonly hear sterile, disinfected, and sanitary, these terms are words you are probably hearing a lot these days. While these words are nearly synonymous there are slight but significant differences. Sterile means 100% of all soils and microorganisms have been removed from the cleaned surface.
Disinfected refers to when at least 99% of the soils and microorganism are removed the cleaned surface.
Sanitary means the soils and microorganisms have been removed from the cleaned surface and removed to a point where general good health is protected.
